Join us to honor the launch of Nadina Ronc’s powerful memoir Daughters of Dissidents Need Not Apply, which chronicles her journey from fleeing war-torn Bosnia as a child to becoming an internationally recognized journalist and political analyst. Her memoir touches on the long-lasting impacts of displacement and the challenges of rebuilding a life in a foreign country. This event is free and open to all.

About the book:

When the fierce hunger of Serbian nationalism reaches Bosnia, Nadina Ronc and her brother are suddenly bundled into the family’s sedan. The moment the car pulls away from their home in the Bosnian city of Brcko, they become a family of refugees. Drawing on her work as a journalist and political analyst, Daughters of Dissidents is an unflinching account of the break up of a country and the break up of a family. A powerful read, Nadina's memoir chronicles systematic abuse of power and reveals what being a refugee in a foreign country can really be like.
