Rising and Living: A Reading of Palestinian and Lebanese Poetry and Writing

Voices of Palestinian and Lebanese literateurs will be amplified in an intimate gathering of writers and readers at Kutubna Cultural Center on Sunday, October 13 at 11:30 am. UAE-based writers Fatima Al Suwaidi, Yosr El Sherbiny, Saara Ali, Noor Abu Hijleh, Ayesha Rahmaan, Ghassoub Mustafa, and Mehr Husain will read passages written by Palestinian and Lebanese authors and poets. Readings will be brief, in Arabic, English, and French.

To honor the lives, will, and strength of fellow creatives from the Levant, members of the audience will also have the opportunity to share cherished passages by Palestinian and Lebanese authors and poets. 

The readings will be followed by a 15-minute generative writing session, creating space for the documenting of memories, reflections, and thoughts, and the expression of emotions in any written form. The final part of the event will include a brief sharing and discussion.
